July 10 - August 8, 2021

One and one and one is three.*

In Come Together, Frank J. Stockton reveals his daydreams, memories, and doomsday scenarios across dozens of works on paper splayed throughout the gallery. Stockton has created a visual diary of nonverbal thoughts and sensations, treating drawing as a vehicle for internal observation and psychological exploration. After a long year of isolated self-examination, Stockton invites you to peer into the mind of someone else. The opening reception will be accompanied by the release of 99 Typewriter Drawings, a monograph of Stockton’s work made in partnership with Curious Publishing.

Frank J. Stockton was born and raised in Southern California. After receiving a BFA from Art Center College of Design in 2005, he moved to New York City, where he drew pictures for magazines and newspapers by day, and made paintings in the studio by night. He eventually returned to the West Coast and earned an MFA from UCLA in 2015. Since then, he has had multiple solo shows and his work has been exhibited internationally. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife Vanessa and their son, Grey.
